Another celiac product to taste-test was Glutano Wafers. These are an interesting food item that are certainly crunchy and light, but left me wondering how I would use them. They come packaged in a large stack. Each wafer is a flat rectangular stamped with a waffle pattern. The wafers are quite bland and don’t have much going for them, save for their high crunch factor. They aren’t sweet, salty, bitter or savory, and have no fat, no sugar, no protein and no fiber. Not surprisingly, the wafers don’t really taste like anything. Though they did remind me of crisp bread, the wafers looked more like dessert crackers. I can’t imagine using them for ice-cream or as a garnish however. If anyone out there can find a recipe for them, I would love to have it to try out.
So while, these certainly are gluten free and wheat free, I’m not sure what to do with them. They aren’t too satisfying on their own!!

These actually are similar to a type of cracker that is very common for kids to eat in Sweden!
They are usually eaten with butter and then cheese or some sort of sandwich meat and a vegetable like cucumber or pepper on top.
My daughter loves them!
Thanks for the info Tamara -
We definitely apply our own regional tastes to our reviews.
Living in Delaware I found it VERY convenient to make cheese and ham sandwidges for my daughter to take to school for lunch! These wafers are awsome! You can put anything on them and just have enough to cover the filling - they do not have much of their own taste, so they do not interfere fith the filling taste! Sweet or meat - good for anything on the go! Unfortunately the local health stores can not order them any more - the healthy food traders stop importing them from France! What should we do??? We have tried different types of GF bread loafs - no use, my little one gets allergic to them!!! Help!
Thanks for the info Anonymous. I believe we found ours at Wegman's within the past 2 months. Hopefully Wegman's at least will continue to sell this great line of Glutano products.
