Beer: Redbridge

My wife and I dined at Risotteria in NYC last night and as I asked for a gluten-free beer with my gluten-free meatball pizza the server mentioned they had Redbridge.

What a coincidence. I just blogged about it's release yesterday, I never expected it to be in the market so soon.

I've tried two other celiac safe beers, Bard's Tale and Ramapo. I would say that Redbridge is my favorite, but I must make the disclaimer that I've never drank regular beer - I have no idea if it is actually like the real thing.

My wife tried some and said it was lighter in texture than a Samuel Adams but the taste was similar. My fraternity brother dining with us thought it tasted good, but not that good.

Please try it out for yourself and let us know.

Happy Holidays!

I am really looking forward to trying that new AB beer, since I really like Bard's (current favorite), and if you think this new one is better than that, then it must be worth me trying out. I reviewed Bard's and New Grist GF Beers a while back on my blog (personal opinion of course). And, this sounds promising. Can't wait to get hold of some for comparison.

Hi Mike,

I tried to buy some in the local beer distributor, but no luck. The owner said that AB was first rolling it out in restaurants.

The retail locator on the site isn't working. An error page comes up.

Happy New Year

Redbridge is available at my parents local Walmart (25314), and at various Liquor Barn locations, as well as Whole Food Markets.

Our nearest Whole Foods is 2 hours, though that is supposed to change in March when Cleveland finally gets one. I'll check the nearest super-Walmart too. Thanks for the update!

I actually feel bad for Bard's Tale, because the guys there are good guys and spent a lot of time and money creating this beer.

Red Bridge is a way better beer and is cheaper than Bard's. I've had a few cases of both and there is no comparison (I'm a celiac that can remember what beer tasted like)
